Exits will be just as crucial as incomings amid the Premier League's clamp down on financial firepower, with Everton, Nottingham Forest and Leicester City all bearing the brunt of Profit and Sustainability sanctions after alleged breaches.

While Spurs are rumoured to be one of the sides sitting pretty in this regard, despite announcing a loss in their latest financial accounts, chairman Daniel Levy will be very eager to balance the books by offloading surplus assets when the window reopens.

Joe Rodon is apparently likely to join Leeds on a permanent deal, according to reports, while Levy is personally ready to accept a £15 million offer for Bryan Gil if clubs come calling for that amount.

Finding buyers for the plethora of senior Tottenham players out on loan will be a top priority, with club-record flop Tanguy Ndombele set to return from Galatasaray alongside others elsewhere like Sergio Reguilon, Djed Spence, Troy Parrott and Japhet Tanganga.

Alongside the players out on temporary spells elsewhere, members of Postecoglou's current crop like Gil, Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg and Giovani Lo Celso have all suffered from a serious lack of opportunities in the Tottenham starting eleven this season.

Hojbjerg's only started a handful of league matches, despite featuring in nearly every top flight encounter, while Lo Celso appears out of favour despite a brief run in the first team mid-season.

The latter has been heavily linked with an exit all season, with Sky Sports even claiming Xavi wanted to sign Lo Celso for Barcelona in January. However, it now appears another big name coach has the Argentine on his radar.

Simeone expresses desire to sign Lo Celso at Atletico

According to Tutto Juve this week, Atletico boss Simeone has expressed his desire to sign Lo Celso from Tottenham this summer, and the La Liga side already have a price in mind.

It is believed they're willing to pay around £17 million to steal him away from N17, but it's unclear whether this is an offer they would accept. During Lo Celso's brief run in the team this season, Postecoglou did hold praise for the midfielder.

"Gio was great," said Postecoglou on Lo Celso one of his performances this season. "He's been great the last two or three weeks. With the amount of injuries we've had and absences we've had, we've needed everyone in the group and everybody who has come in has stepped up.

"Gio was very good today, not just with his work rate but you could see his quality on the ball. His passes through and the one through to Sonny was outstanding. We needed him today and we're going to need him going forward because Sonny goes away now, Biss goes away, Pape goes away. So I thought he was a good contributor."

  The Senegalese forward scored his second goal of the 2024/25 season as he handed Chelsea the lead against Crystal Palace on Sunday at Stamford Bridge. Specific names are already being shortlisted ahead of the next transfer window, and there have been many mentioned this week alone. RB Leipzig ace Dani Olmo has played his way onto Tottenham's transfer agenda, among others, as the north Londoners seek more threatening options.

Tottenham have an option to make Timo Werner's signing permanent for around £15 million, but while the German has got off to a good start overall, some have expressed doubt over his ability to chip in significantly long-term.

"I’m sorry, he misses so many good chances. And those chances that he missed, they can change games. Technically, he’s one of the worst players in the Premier League. I’m going to say that, because I honestly believe that," said pundit Jay Bothroyd to Optus Sport in a harsh assessment of Werner.

Fabrizio Romano also says Tottenham want a player who can add more goals and assists to Postecoglou's side, and one astute option could be Genoa's Albert Gudmundsson.

The Iceland international has bagged 13 goals and three assists in 30 Serie A starts under Albert Gilardino this term, leading to reported interest from N17.

According to a report from Italy this week, specifically newspaper Tuttosport, Tottenham have "sat down at the table" to discuss signing Gudmundsson this summer, and so have Inter Milan.

However, they could be better placed to seal a move for the attacking midfielder than Inter, as agent Oscar Damiani told FCInterNews that Italian clubs most likely won't reach the potential £26 million asking price for Gudmundsson.

Called "similar" to Forest star Gibbs-White by Football Transfers, the 26-year-old has also been likened to Liverpool star Mohamed Salah by teammate Kevin Strootman.

“He reminds me of Salah when he was at Roma, in that every now and then he disappears. Much like Salah then, he would have four or five chances per match and only score at most one," said Strootman.

“They used to say that if Salah was more clinical, he would be playing for Liverpool, and that is exactly what happened. All joking aside, Gudmundsson is a devastating player and also an exemplary professional.”

It's been an unbelievable season for Arsenal so far this year, and with two games to go, there is a real chance the club could end its two-decade wait for a Premier League title.

Mikel Arteta has created a truly brilliant team that has pushed Manchester City all the way this season, although, based on recent news, the Gunners' upcoming game against Manchester United could be about to get a lot harder.

In his pre-match press conference on Friday, Arteta confirmed that star winger Bukayo Saka is a doubt for the game at Old Trafford.

While it's not the end of the world for the north Londoners, the Englishman is arguably the most essential player in the team, although there might be a way to solve the problem if he cannot play.

Overall, the Ealing-born sensation is irreplaceable as an individual, but that doesn't mean there isn't a solution to this problem, a solution that could also give another star some much-needed game time.

The player to replace Saka

The man that could help Arteta solve this problem is Gabriel Jesus, as the former Manchester City ace has previous experience of playing out on the right.

In fact, while there isn't an enormous amount of data to base too much on, the £265k-per-week star actually has a better rate of return when starting out on the right than in any other position.

The 27-year-old "game-changer", as described by Alan Shearer, would also benefit from more game time as he has been relegated to a bench role in the last few months, with Havertz firmly establishing himself as the number one striker.

Reminded of the frailties which still very much exist in Spurs' eleven, their last three consecutive Premier League defeats to Newcastle United, Arsenal and Chelsea highlight that Postecoglou's got a lot of work to do ahead of 2024/2025.

"They didn't win individual battles, didn't win enough second balls, they were so passive, especially in the first half in a derby game where you have to win those battles, play forward and look to pass with a bit of urgency. They didn't do all the basics," said pundit Jamie Redknapp on Tottenham's defeat to Chelsea.

"When Ange took over, I was watching the football thinking, 'this is almost revolutionary'. You've got two men coming into midfield, the two full-backs looking fantastic, people playing at such a high level. But they've fallen off a cliff now. With Champions League football looking like an ever-so-distant prospect as Aston Villa take full control of the race for fourth, the next summer transfer window will be crucial. Tottenham want to sign a new centre-back for Postecoglou, alongside a new striker and number six (Matt Law), and a few players could also go the other way.

Young forward Bryan Gil, who doesn't feature in Postecoglou's plans going by his lack of game time, is one man nominated for the axe. Feyenoord have been displaying serious interest in Gil, but the Eredivisie side are by no means alone.

Gil asks to leave Tottenham as Sevilla make proposal

According to Vamos Mi Sevilla FC, via Sport Witness, Gil has "requested" to leave Tottenham permanently, and Sevilla have made a proposal for the Spaniard.

While the La Liga side can't afford to take him on an outright permanent deal, the offer they've made is one of a loan with the obligation to make it permanent next year.

Signed by Fabio Paratici for around £22 million from Sevilla in a part-exchange deal including Erik Lamela, it remains to be seen if the "very, very exciting" player can seal a move back to his former club.
