Tait was taking a break from the game during the first Twenty20 extravaganza in India and was prevented from going to the second by Cricket Australia due to his recovery from a hamstring injury.Rajasthan Royals bought Tait for $US375,000 a season last year and Shane Warne will captain him in the upcoming competition. “I’ve been very keen, the last couple of years I haven’t been able to play, so I’ve been looking forward to the IPL this year so I hope it can go ahead,” Tait told AAP.”All the security stuff, that’s out of my league, but I hope it does go ahead and everything’s fine and I can play. I’ve been thinking about the IPL for a while now, so looking forward to playing.”Warne had admitted to “thinking twice” about going to India for the tournament following the threats, but Tait said he would be “very disappointed” if it didn’t go ahead. “I’d play wherever it’s played, obviously they moved it to South Africa last year, and I’ve been there,” he said.”It’s a good place, I’d be happy to play there, but I was looking forward to playing in India this year because the IPL’s obviously based out of India. The crowds over there are unbelievable and I want to go over there and experience that to be honest.”

Além de buscar a classificação após o empate em 0 a 0 na semana passada, na Arena Corinthians, Serginho seguirá trabalhando, entre outros motivos, para honrar a memória do primo que morreu em 1994.

– Meu primo foi um corintiano fanático. Meu pai me conta que ele ia em todos os jogos e que se ele estivesse vivo eu seria praticamente filho dele, porque ele teria muito orgulho de mim – conta Serginho, em entrevista ao LANCE!.

Paulo Sérgio, o primo de Serginho, foi vítima fatal de um dos casos de violência mais conhecidos da história do futebol brasileiro. Logo após o primeiro jogo da final do Campeonato Brasileiro entre Corinthians e Palmeiras, ele deixava o estádio do Pacaembu sentado na caçamba de uma picape ao lado de outros amigos corintianos quando foi atingido por um tiro na cabeça. O disparo foi feito no cruzamento da avenida Henrique Schaumann com a rua Artur de Azevedo, no bairro de Pinheiros. O responsável pelo tiro era um homem que se identificou como torcedor do Palmeiras e foi condenado em 2008 a 12 anos de prisão. A família da vítima carrega o sofrimento até hoje.

– Ele era bastante querido por todos, meu pai tinha uma relação próxima com ele e eu também queria ter conhecido. Isso impactou muito nossa família, porque ele morreu novo (aos 31 anos), tinha uma vida pela frente – conta Serginho, que foi moldado pelo drama familiar para amadurecer cedo.

– Violência é muito triste. Hoje em dia você tem tanta informação e tecnologia que a mente das pessoas também deveria evoluir. Sei que sempre vai existir rivalidade, mas briga e morte não deveria acontecer, porque sempre sobra para uma família, alguém que não tem nada a ver.

A trajetória – Serginho é bicampeão paulista nas categorias de base. Primeiro pelo Santos, no sub-11, e depois pelo Corinthians, no sub-13. Ele defendeu o Peixe por dois anos, mas uma fase de falta de oportunidades fez com que aceitasse uma oferta do Timão em 2013. Entre 2014 e 2015 ele foi convidado nove vezes para a base da Seleção Brasileira e traçou uma trajetória promissora no Corinthians, com três gols no Paulista sub-17 deste ano e boa projeção.

Relacionado para a partida desta quarta-feira contra o Vitória, no Barradão, Serginho se recuperou recentemente de uma lesão séria no joelho e já esteve no banco de reservas em duas partidas. Caso seja utilizado, jogará um pouco em memória de Paulo Sérgio.

– Jogo um pouco por ele, sim. Dentro do clube tem conselheiros e diretores que já me falaram dele, que lembram e associam. Se Deus quiser, lá na frente, em pouco tempo, vai ter um novo Elia brilhando no Corinthians.

Injuries that have already eliminated Fidel Edwards from the imminent West Indies tour of Australia have now cost the fast bowler a retainer contract from the West Indies Cricket Board (WICB).Chief executive Ernest Hilaire confirmed on Wednesday that one-year contracts in four separate grades had been issued to 33 players but had been withheld for Edwards and opening batsman Dale Richards until their “medical status is cleared”.He noted that when Edwards returned to Barbados from the ICC World Twenty20 in England in June with a back injury, the WICB put him on a remedial programme. “He abandoned it and went to play in the Champions League in India (in October) and got injured there,” Hilaire said. “We now need to sort that out.”Like Edwards, Richards has been set back by a succession of injuries. Richards missed last season’s home series against England and the following series in England with knee and ankle problems. A dislocated shoulder during the ICC Champions Trophy in South Africa ruled him out of the recent President’s Cup, the regional one-day tournament. “It’s not that they wouldn’t be offered contracts,” Hilaire said. “It’s just that we have to resolve their medical status.”Based on experience, record and potential, the contracts are graded at US$120,000, $80,000, $60,000 and $24,000. The last category is for what is called ‘developmental players’. Match, tour and sponsorship fees are additional and paid to those selected for West Indies, with or without contracts.Hilaire said the names already published in the Caribbean media were correct but he would not state which were in which group nor give the overall costs. Com um a mais em quase todo o jogo, o Vasco voltou a não jogar bem e empatou em 1 a 1 com o Sport na noite desta segunda-feira, na Ilha do Retiro, em mais uma rodada do Campeonato Brasileiro. O time comandado por Zé Ricardo conseguiu levar pressão do time pernambucano, sem muita criação e objetividade. Muitos erros de passe atrapalharam o rendimento cruz-maltino.

Nos primeiros 20 minutos de partida, o Vasco jogou nada, foi completamente dominado pelo Sport. Nenhuma tentativa da equipe comandada por Zé Ricardo tinha êxito. O time de Vanderlei Luxemburgo, por outro lado, aproveitava o fator casa e não parava de pressionar, dando bastante trabalho ao goleiro Martin Silva.

A situação do Vasco melhorou um pouco justamente após este primeiro período. Diego Souza, sempre com ânimo explosivo, reclamou acintosamente com o árbitro Sandro Meira Ricci, levou o cartão amarelo, não parou a reclamação, e foi expulso. Prejudicando todo o trabalho do Sport para a partida.

O fato de estar com um jogador a mais fez enfim o Vasco entrar no jogo. Mesmo ainda com muitos erros de passe de Jean, a equipe cruz-maltina passou a criar e levar um pouco de perigo. Senti falta de velocidade na rodagem da bola, por exemplo. Na primeira vez que tudo funcionou, gol marcado. Aos 38, Nenê recebeu de Yago Pikachu e mandou para o gol, abrindo o marcador para o Vasco.

Na volta para o segundo tempo, o Vasco recuou um pouco, dando espaço para o Sport, mesmo com um a menos, conseguir trabalhar a bola e manter o ritmo ofensivo. Aos 20, duas chances claras. Na primeira, Martin Silva salva finalização de André e, na sequência, Breno evita o chute também de André na hora H.

Ricci novamente foi personagem do jogo aos 24. Errou em marcação de pênalti a favor do Sport em lance com Anderson Martins, mas consertou o erro três minutos depois ao ser alertado por seu auxiliar. Mais uma prova de que o árbitro de vídeo deve ser adotado rápido pela CBF.

O Sport não se abalou e aproveitou um Vasco que parecia não estar com os 11 jogadores em campo. Aos 39, Raúl Prata achou André e, sem marcação, igualou o marcador de forma merecida. O jogo terminou com um empate justo, mesmo com as adversidades. Para o Vasco resta ter tranquilidade na sequência.

Rouse also forecast a torrid outing for the likes of Andrew Flintoff, with rain making for a heavy playing surface that will make “bowling 25 overs feel like 35 overs”.Harmison combined with fellow England squad member Graham Onions to force the only first-class result at Edgbaston this year; a ten-wicket win for Durham. The England pacemen claimed 16 of the 20 Warwickshire wickets to fall, and Harmison has continued his rich vein of form since with three further five-wicket hauls this season.Rouse, though, insists Harmison’s bang-it-in approach would not be suited to an Edgbaston pitch softened by recent rain. Bowlers who maintain a fuller length, he suggested, will stand a greater chance of success from Thursday.”Steve is a back of a length bowler,” Rouse told Cricinfo’s Switch Hit podcast. “If you bang it in on that, it will dent the surface and come off slowly, and good players – quality Test players – have always got time to play. I can see no point in getting 650, that’s two-and-a-half days gone, then the next side goes in because they want their batting points. They go and get 400, declare at tea time on the last day and go home. To me, that’s four days totally wasted. If I could leave a lot, lot more grass on so there’s more pace and more carry you’d encourage the quick bowlers, plus it helps people play their shots more. But they’re frightened to lose. If you’re frightened to take a gamble, you’re not going to win anything. Never.”

Celtic trio Kyogo Furuhashi, Giorgos Giakoumakis and Callum McGregor may feature in some capacity against Bayer Leverkusen tonight, according to the BBC.

The Lowdown: Injury woes

Furuhashi has missed the last five games for the Hoops after returning from international duty with a knee injury.

Captain McGregor hasn’t featured in the last four matches due to a hamstring issue, whereas deadline day arrival Giakoumakis is yet to make his debut in green and white.

However, it appears as if all three could be in and around the matchday squad against Leverkusen at Parkhead.

The Latest: Return to training

Within the BBC’s preview piece for the group stage clash against the Bundesliga side, they claimed that Furuhashi, Giakoumakis and McGregor have all returned to training.

Ange Postecoglou admitted that there is zero chance all three will start at Celtic Park, but revealed that he is expecting a couple to feature, whether that be tonight or on Sunday.

The Verdict: Big news

Furuhashi and McGregor have been key figures under Postecoglou, so having them back amongst the first team group is huge. The Japanese marksman has scored seven times in just nine games for the club, while the Scottish midfielder took the captaincy reins from the long-serving Scott Brown earlier this year.

Celtic have also relied heavily on Albian Ajeti in recent weeks, so having Giakoumakis fit is also good news.

Hopefully the trio will be named in the matchday squad against Leverkusen and will be ready if required, potentially from the bench.

تغنى أيمن يونس لاعب الزمالك السابق والمحلل الفني الحالي، بالمدير الفني للفريق الأبيض الأول جيسفالدو فيريرا، مشيرًا إلى أنه أصبح “نجم الشباك”.
