كشف قائد الفريق الأول لكرة القدم بنادي تشيلسي، سيزار أزبيليكويتا، عن أسباب تفضيله البقاء مع البلوز على الانتقال إلى برشلونة في الميركاتو الصيفي الماضي.

وارتبط اسم أزبيليكويتا كثيرًا في أشهر الصيف بإمكانية الانضمام إلى قلعة “كامب نو” تحت قيادة، تشافي هيرنانديز، لكن في النهاية قرر البقاء في “ستامفورد بريدج” وجدد عقده حتى يونيو 2024.

وأثناء حواره مع إذاعة “كادينا سير” الإسبانية، وضح أزبيليكويتا السبب وقال: “عندما اتخذت هذا القرار، تفهم تشافي الأمر بشكل طبيعي”.

وتابع: “كنت دائمًا واضحًا للغاية حول رغبتي، لم أكن أرغب في الدخول في موسمي الأخير دون حسم مستقبلي وهو ما حدث”.

وأضاف: “أصبحت لندن منزلي، لقد ولد أطفالي في لندن، يتحدثون الإنجليزية أفضل من الإسبانية، ما لا يمكنني فعله هو مغادرة منزلي بأي طريقة لا أريدها”.

وواصل تصريحاته: “في النهاية، رأيت أن أفضل شيء هو مواصلة مغامرتي في لندن، آمل أن تكون هناك سنوات عديدة أخرى مع تشيلسي، سعيد لبقائي في النادي لأنه أمر مهم للغاية”.

Manchester City have seen many players come and go at the Etihad Stadium over the past few years, usually for significant sums of money.

As things stand in their current season, the Citizens are four games away from potentially securing the Premier League title once again.

Should the club manage to do that, it would be the only trophy they would get their hands on this season after getting knocked out of the Carabao Cup, FA Cup and, this week, the Champions League.

Now that the summer transfer window is on the horizon, it seems as though a big clue has emerged regarding what sort of business could be done behind the scenes at the Etihad this time around.

What’s the news?

According to a recent report from The Telegraph, City are preparing to “refresh their squad this summer amid hope Pep Guardiola will extend his contract with the club.”

It has also been claimed that City “are expected to sign the Norway striker Erling Haaland from Borussia Dortmund for the £63m release clause in his contract regardless of what happens with the manager’s longer-term future.”

The report added that the Citizens “want to bring in another midfielder, with Fernandinho due to leave at the end of the season, and doubts surrounding the futures of at least five other senior players.”

Focusing on their potential swoop for Haaland, the fact that City have missed more big chances (58) than any other team in the Premier League this season shows that they could do with having a clinical striker like the Norwegian in their line-up.

Having scored 85 goals in 87 games for the Bundesliga giants, it’s safe to say that the 21-year-old could be a crucial signing for City if he can replicate that same sort of consistent goalscoring form in England.

Taking all this into account, it seems as though the hierarchy at the Etihad could be set for a busy summer period in terms of securing deals for players potentially moving into and out of the club once again.

This would surely be great news for City supporters who will be hoping that whatever business gets done in the summer will put their team in with a great chance of winning every competition in which they are involved next season and beyond.

Moisés e Bruno deram conta da marcação e da saída de bola, Scarpa e Dudu alternaram posicionamento entre direita e esquerda e Guerra jogou centralizado. Funcionou bem o meio-de-campo.

The New Zealand board has put on hold any sweeping changes following the team’s disastrous tour of Bangladesh, where they lost all four ODIs. It has instead set up a specialised cricket committee and called on the players to redeem themselves on next month’s tour of India.The board met on Friday with captain Daniel Vettori, coach Mark Greatbatch and performance director Roger Mortimer, after nine-hour-long meetings on Thursday with NZC management and Martin Toomey, a high-ranking official of SPARC (Sport and Recreation New Zealand), a government sponsored body to promote sports in the country.Chris Moller, the NZC chairman, called Friday’s meeting with the team officials “comprehensive and robust”, and said that the New Zealand team needed to be given an opportunity to redeem themselves, on the tour of India next month.”We believe that the team needs to be given the chance to demonstrate that they can perform,” Moller said, “the players must take responsibility.”The cricket committee comprises Moller, former international cricketers Stephen Boock and Rob Hart, and High Court judge Sir John Hansen. Its remit will run “from the grassroots right through to the elite level, including the Black Caps.”Moller said that while the performance in Bangladesh was “very concerning”, they will be no major changes in team composition or in the team management immediately. Vettori is the team’s captain, part of the selection committee, their leading bowler and an important lower-order batsman, but NZC decided he didn’t have too much on his plate. “We asked that question, we had a good debate on the subject,” Moller said. “Dan commented that he feels the level of weight on his shoulders was far less than was the case 12 months ago.”Bangladesh’s emphatic victory was the first time they had defeated major opposition in a series. Nottingham Forest’s decision to let Anel Ahmedhodzic leave the City Ground back in 2019 could well go down as one of the biggest howlers the club has made in recent times.

Ahmedhodzic was a product of Swedish outfit Malmo FF and left the side to join Nottingham Forest’s U18s. The Bosnian with Swedish citizenship worked his way up to the Forest senior side, where he made one first-team appearance as a substitute against Newcastle United, before rejoining Malmo FF – this time as a first-team player.

After a six-month loan spell to Danish outfit Hobro IK, Ahmedhodzic was recalled and became a big part of the squad after signing a new three-year deal, with the side becoming league champions just seven months after he returned from his loan spell.

The following year was the antithesis of his spell at Forest and saw the likes of Chelsea, Manchester United and Atalanta very much interested in signing the then 22-year-old. The latter, Atalanta, were on the verge of signing Ahmedhodzic in March of 2021, though he stayed with Malmo and made his Champions League debut just five months later against Juventus.

Fast forward to the present day and Ahmedhodzic finds himself on loan at Ligue 1 outfit Bordeaux, having established himself as a starter since joining in January.

Bordeaux have an option to buy the 6 foot 4 centre-back for just €4m (£3.3m) which is a bargain, considering his market value has elevated to £6.3m, according to Transfermarkt.

At 23-years-old his potential is limitless, though if you were to take a look at his stats, they would suggest he is a box-to-box midfielder.

They are peculiar to say the least, but nevertheless impressive. As a centre-back, it is very rare to achieve a shot-creating actions average of one SCA per 90 minutes. Though that suggests everything you need to know about Ahmedhodzic and the system that he operates in.

The Bosnia international plays in a back three and functions as an overlapping centre-back, with his ability in possession a key enabler in his desire to progress up the pitch.

He’s been described by Fabrizio Romano as a “top talent” and it is easy to see why.

If Ahmedhodzic keeps up this trajectory, he will have Nottingham Forest deeply regretting their decision to sell him after he was afforded just one appearance.

وفي السياق ذاته، رد وجيه الجريء شقيق وديع الجريء رئيس الاتحاد التونسي والمتهم بتقاضيه المبلغ المالي، معلنًا نيته رفع دعوة قضائية ضد عصام جمعة، قائلًا: “والله لا نتمنى الشر لأحد، لكن (ما عادش فيها).. مقاضاة عصام جمعة، وقبل القضاء أوكل عليك ربي، لا تسامح مع أحد وكل من أخرج شائعة أو نشرها عليه بتحمل المسؤولية”.

As per the American journalist, sharing news from one of his close sources, the Hoops are now in advanced talks to sign Carter-Vickers permanently from Spurs.

“Celtic is in advanced talks to acquire USMNT and Tottenham defender Cameron Carter-Vickers, a source confirmed. Celtic remains “very happy” with CCV, but still will need to fight off competition from English clubs.”

Offloading Carter-Vickers for a small profit margin is arguably imperative given Conte’s lofty summer transfer ambitions, with as many as six major signings reportedly on his agenda (The Telegraph).

The 24-year-old, a mainstay under Ange Postecoglou over 2021/2022, has barely been given a look-in down south for Tottenham and now is the perfect time to let him leave and further his career.
